Our offerings revolve around tripping in the woods while moving as part of the Circle, and not as some separated spectator species blindly following the prime directive, ala the whole National or State Park scene with their silly little scripted experiences designed to keep you off the grass. Quite a complex issue really--when you're doing something you love and selling it for money. In fact the philosophical aspects of the question are so far reaching and fundamental to our mutual experience that I expound upon it on another page if you're interested. But for now I best cut to the chase if this is even going to begin to peek your interest, so here's the shortlist of what we offer--

Are you trying to get to the next level with your writing? Although I'm yet to be published for over a decade I've been serious about the craft and have to ask the question. Are you trying to break on through? I'm not even sure what that means at times so lost in the words do I get, yet I know it possesses a commonality elemental enough to grab one so low, even to where it hurts, that as Kerouac said, “...it’s where everybody’s the same.”

The woods does a pretty good job of getting you back to that level, ridding one of the white noise of life as it puts one back in their place, sometimes whether we care to be or not. That's what it does for me at least and I'm so convinced it can for you also I encourage it with a special starving writer's price to help you break out from the box. This is for serious writers only, there will be discussions, writing time and critiques around the fire, you're expected to know something of the process.

We'll take some daytrips, eat good, talk of the ways we perceive things and try to get some down on paper, or on your laptop's disk. You'll have your own heated wall tent, with plenty of room to settle in and be comfortable to write. Power is available for your laptop, all food, lodging and activities while in camp are included.

For those wanting an experiential based knowledge of wilderness skills we offer this opportunity. Don't expect to be coddled. You'll be working right along with us, facing the challenge, enjoying the camaraderie and satisfaction of connecting to a way of life experienced by very few.  You'll be learning some very cool things about wilderness skills, life and yourself. This is a pretty dynamic experience, the rush of peace and confidence it brings startling and rather life changing I believe. Depends on what time of year you show up as to what we are doing, but no matter when, you'll be learning a wealth of knowledge about different aspects of being in the wilderness--always handy for these days in which we live.

In the Fall by canoe we hunt as in the old days, moving slowly through the country as we do, glassing, looking for an older bull, calling, watching and stalking like a band of wolves. We harvest the entire animal, even the guts and hooves, giving thanks as it's done with rejoicing and prayer, and only taking animals necessary to survive. We need the meat and hides (hence the lower price), and you get the memories (and some of the prime cuts to take home if you want), along with the skull and antlers beautifully painted, feathered and bangled as a prayer piece, along with some other cool woodsy stuff we'll make for you. It's gonzo wild, spiritual shit--doin's that will stay with you forever as your primordial connected spirit dances free around the fire the night we get to howl.

This primitive hunt is also right down a bow hunter's ally so we encourage you to contact us if that's your way. While we feel the experience is more connected with a primitive means of harvest, the bottom line is we need the meat, hides and money to carry on so will let you use a favorite cartridge gun if you really insist (hopefully a nice old-timey piece). Also keep in mind, if you don't have a muzzle loader we have a nice flintlock long rifle we will be happy to loan you--
